Abstract:

Anolis centralis litoralis is raised to specific level, based on morphological characters, geographical distribution and behavior. A new species of the argillaceus group from Central-Eastern Cuba is described. It is similar to A. litoralis and A. centralis, but differing in having a shorter snout, a less developed dewlap, yellowish color, the tail of the males is thick in its base and has postcloacal enlarged scales and other features of the scaling.
